Genealogy of the Frisk Family
Below is the personal record of Matilda and Albert Frisk
as compiled by RALPH A. FRISK and EDNA H. FRISK
in 1979.

Matilda Joy Lindholm - born October 28, 1860 - died June 23, 1959 (Internment, Burwood Cemetery, Escalon, California)
"Tilda"
was not given a middle name when she was born.
In later years a lady, who was a fellow member of the Stoney Point Church
at Mountain Grove, Missouri, found out. She
and the members of the church decided to give her a middle name. Everyone
gathered at Matilda's house and wrote what they thought would be an appropriate
middle name and put them in a hat. The
one drawn was "Joy".
Anyway, that is what Matilda thought.
Everyone had decided beforehand that Joy would be the name and that is
what everyone wrote and put in the hat!
She was quite a lady.
She was widowed 3 weeks before the birth of her 9th child.
She never married again. When
her father died her mother who was blind, by then, and her sister who was
crippled came to live with Matilda and her family until their deaths.
When her son, Alvin, was left with 4 young children, upon the death of
his wife after the 4th child was born, Matilda took the train to Kansas and
brought the newborn baby home with her. She
raised the youngest two girls. Then
in the late 1930's she moved with her daughter and family to California where

Albert Claus Frisk had a brother, Charles O. Frisk (Charlie), born in July, 1856 and a
sister, Augusta Frisk, born in 1860. Their father was Per Gustaf Frisk aka
Pierre Charles Johnson, born in Lindschuping, Sweden, December 3, 1836.
